Art, design and fashion converge to offer a reflective exploration of the world around us in Pierre Brault's vibrant artworks. Using recycled Plexiglas, he ‘sculpts light’ into immersive, three-dimensional homages to the beauty of nature, the cycle of life, and the spirit of renewal. In a powerful combination of vibrant and soothing, each beautiful and intricate piece invites us to pause, contemplate and seize the present moment.
With nature as his main source of inspiration, Brault draws from the beauty, structure and what he describes as the graphic richness of flora and fauna. His fascination with science is also evident in his continual development of new concepts and techniques, and at the heart of his work is a consistent sensory approach to materials. As if constructing a puzzle, he engages in the composition and decomposition of geometrical shapes and exploring different ways of giving the work what he describes as an ‘airy, levitating feel’.
